Nutellisimu
Craving a dessert on a lazy day when you do not have the effort or energy to bake, I decided that the best way to satisfy my desire for sugar is to use your leftovers and create a simple yet a very indulging dish.
I always have Nutella and chocolate chips stored and had some ladyfingers left lonely in the fridge. Therefore, I decided to come up with this heavenly treat.
Ladyfingers roots could be traced back to the 15th century, where they were served at the court of the Duchy of Savoy and were especially developed for the visit of the King of France. They were named Savoiardi and were acclaimed to be “official” court biscuits.
To develop this recipe, I was particularly influenced by the popular dessert Tiramisu. It entails the same essential ingredients yet this dish will be the choice of any chocolate addict like me.
Ingredients
1 packet of cream cheese (mascarpone, Philadelphia, kiri )
200 ml of whipping cream
1 packet of whipping cream powder
1 tablespoon of condensed milk
3 tablespoons of Nutella
1 cup of chocolate chips
1 teaspoon of espresso
18-20 pieces of ladyfingers (depending on your serving dish)
Kitchen utensils and equipment:
2 large bowls
1 small bowl
Electric Mixer
Serving dish
Method
1. Add your cream cheese and the condensed milk in large bowl and whisk till you get a smooth texture.
2. In another bowl, whisk the whipping cream liquid with the power till it becomes fluffy using your electric mixer.
6. Put 1 cup of boiling water and the espresso in the same bowl where you have melted the chocolate chips.
7. Dip each ladyfinger for 5-6 seconds in the espresso (TIP don't leave them longer, they will fall apart and become mushy).
8. Place them in the bottom of your serving dish and spread evenly half of the Nutella mixture over the ladyfinger.
10.Garnish with butterscotch chips.
11. Cover it with plastic wrap and refrigerate it from 2-8 hours.
Enjoy :)
